Homeopathy????? I heard about this homeopathy stuff and I found certified homeopath,went to see her,paid $225?

for first visit.She gave me one little pill only and said that this will do everything:my migraines,heart palpitations.....WTF??? Can anyone explain me that??? I thought homeopathy supposed to treat you with a lot of different herbs?????

I cannot comment on the charges, it is too personal. But homeopathy is not a sham, it works. One pill can heal a lot of problems. Herbal and homeopathy are two different types of therapies. Homeopathy treats the cause, the constitution, and the disease by using tinctures extracted from plants and herbs. But it is still not herbal medicines where herbs are used directly.
The doctor goes through a lot of history details of the patient before shortlisting the homeopathic medicine. Just a single dose of medicine does the trick.
Homeopathy does work wonders.

A Homeopath is not the same as a Herbalist.
One tiny little pill can sometimes do the trick-- similar to flu shot, where you get a tiny bit of the flu to build your immune system.
I don't know what she gave you, so I can't comment on whether or not I believe it will work.

sounds like you got ripped off. just go to an herb shop and ask them what herbs you should take. they are all pretty knowledgable.

The only plausible explanation is that this person is a scam. One pill for everything, and she's Certified? Maybe she's hoping on the placebo effect: if you believe it works, it might. Other than that, there is no substance, or combination thereof, that can cure everything in such a small dose. And if you're taking any prescriptions, talk to your doctor about drug interactions. Some homepathic remedies can have disasterous effects when mixed with certain drugs. You should research your local laws to see if you can sue or press charges to get your money back for blatant misrepresentation. Unfortunately, capitalism has a catch, "Buyer beware."

First off homeopathy is not herbal medicine. These are two different entities. Homeopathy is the use of the "essence" of a molecule, and in point of fact doesn't have any actual part of the herb or mineral in the product.

Homeopathy really works in the hands of a good practitioner. there are bad ones and good ones just like doctors and lawyers. i used one 20 years ago, the questioning session took over an hour and cost a lot. the treatment worked. You probably should have asked how much it would cost as to not be surprised. did the remedy work? there is a lot of intricate training for a true homeopath so the price and the time spent with you could be in the ballpark

Well, I'm not an expert, but I know homeopathic things are usually pills(or creams) and the difference with it is that homeopathic medicine is really diluted, so a pill would have like 2% of the actual remedy in it. I'm pretty sure this is right. But uh $225 seems way to expensive. What you can do if you want is get a book of homeopathic remedies to tell you what to take and find a health food store or a pharmacy that sells homeopathic medicine, and then just buy what you need for a lot cheaper. People who know nothing about homeopathy will tell you there is no science behind it, not knowing that there are published studies of it working on patients in comas, babies and animals. So much for a placebo effect.

"Home made" homeopathic tinctures are very difficult to make according to Hahnemann's directions as most people do not have the equipment to properly measure and agitate the solutions.

Again, homeopathy has been shown, through published academic research papers, to have effects on people who can't have a placebo effect...for example people in comas.

Homeopathy was created some 200 years ago by a man named Samuel Honomin. This was back when medicine was less of a science and more of an art. With a good intention Honomin tried to improve the quality of medicine by created the 4 rules of homeopathy:
1. Do a proving.
2. Match symptoms of patient to proving and give matched substance to patient.
3. Do not give patient the substance, give him a highly diluted form of the substance.
4. The more dilute the 鈥渕edicine鈥?is the stronger it is.

A proving is to take a healthy person and give him a known substance, then record the symptoms. By observing the patient and asking questions find the best match from the proving and give them that substance to reverse the effect. An example is if a person has trouble sleeping, the proving says the caffeine can keep a person from sleeping. The cure is to give the parson who has trouble sleeping caffeine to make them fall asleep. Diluting, This is where homeopathy really falls apart. To dilute the substance it is 鈥渟usessed鈥?than is to take 1 part to the substance and mix it with 10 parts water by shaking it 10 times up and down, 10 times side to side , and 10 times back and forth. This is a 1X solution, and is considered far to powerful to give to anyone. One part of this new solution is taken and added to 10 parts water for a 2X solution and so on. A 20X solution is considered the maximum potency . This is expressed mathematically by 1 part in 100,000,000,000,000,000,000. At this point the solution is considered attenuated. Most solutions at between 30X and 1500X. This takes us to a point of no return. Avogrado鈥檚 Number, this is the point at which a solution has only the chance of 1 molecule present of the original substance. Avogrado鈥檚 Number when represented on the same scale as the homeopathy remedies is 23X. At 24X the is only a 1 in 10 chance of 1 molecule present. The 1500X solution is too big to imagine for most of us. The mathematician Martin Gardener was able to express this as a metaphor. It is equivalent to taking 1 grain of rice, crushing it into a fine powder and dissolving it in a sphere of water the size of the solar system out to Pluto.

In short homeopathic cures are nothing more than sugar or starch pills infused with 鈥淢agic Water鈥?relying on the 鈥減lacebo鈥?effect. You can find this out for yourself if you read the specifics on how it is supposed to work rather that taking for granted the cures given.
Because ther is nothing in the pill she can give you one pill to cure all of your problems nomater what they are. Her pill will work exactly as well as taking nothing.

Congradulations.... you are now one of the millions who've been ripped off by medical quacks. Homeopathic remedies are just plain water, which has been shaken vigorously. Whatever ingredients were added have been so diluted, that not even one molecule of the original material is left..... so at least it won't harm you......... unless you have the misfortune to have a real or serious illness. If so, better see a real MD, preferably board certified, as soon as possible.

Be very careful. Homeopathy is based on ''magic'' and is practiced by charlatans. What little effect it has can be attributed to placebo effect.
