Hives...??? |
Does anyone have any advice for me on Hives? I have no idea what causes my hives and have also not been to the doctor as I was told to take antihistamine to control it, which does help. If anyone knows of any cures, causes etc please let me know as it鈥檚 a real pain to have this!! Urticaria(Hives) :- It is an eruption or itching wheal usually of systemic origin. It may be due to state of hypersensitivity to foods or drugs, foci of infections, physical agents(heat, cold, light and friction), or psychic stimuli. It occurs in hypersensitive or allergic persons. Constitutional treatment is essential. take an allegra and a zantac and it will go away You need to know what is causing them. Frequently, it's the soap you are using or the detergent you use on your clothes. Sometimes stress can cause them, but more usual it's something in your environment. You can use Benedryl. I was prescribed 50 mg. 4x a day. Be careful, it can make you really sleepy. hives is an allergic reaction to something. you need to try to find what is causing it. i have had them so i know how bad you are itching. try changing soaps, laundry soap or anything that may be new in your home. im not sure waht is causing it but it is an alergic reaction to something. try an oatmeal bath that can be found at the drug store and soak in it! antihistimes also. good luck. i hope you can find out what your allergic to!! Hives is the American work for what we call urticaria. It is generally associated with allergy, but is sometimes attributed to anxiety ( mainly in the USA). Other than antihistamines, there are few useful treatment options. You can try and get your GP to refer you, in an attempt to hunt for the allergy. Sometimes it is never discovered and often it is to something it is difficult to avoid. Try to isolate it by changing your diet around week by week. you should go see your doctor. How long have you had hives? The antihistamine is the only thing that will help. |
