Treatment for hives on stomach and chest.? |
i smoked something last night and this morning i woke up with a bunch of hives on the side of my stomach then later in the day the hives came up all over my stomach and up to my chest. i have never had hives before. whatis a good treatment for hives. my friend told me tea tree oil but i dont know if i should be throwing anything onto it yet. Yep, benadryl and a nice oatmeal bath should work. If not, call a doctor! And stop smoking weird stuff! Take benadryl. It stops the itching. Makes you tired but helps. If you cant take it try oatmeal paste. It works wonders. Benadryl works wonders. You may want to get the cream and the liquid meds it will put you out so you won't still be itching! Try taking an antihistamine for the itch, and put some hydrocortisone cream on the rash. If it gets worse, go to the doctor to have it checked out... you are probably allergic to what you smoked. these sorts of allergies can be fatal. stop it now. for the hives. take a hayfever tablet such as telfast or claratyne. that should deal with the hives pretty quickly. if it gets worse, a trip to the emergency room might be how you spend your sunday. Take a Benedryl capsule. The hives should subside in a few hours. If you have difficulty breathing (whether you take the antihistimine or not) get emergency help immediately. hives are usually a sign of an alergic reaction, i would check for food alergies or the likes but maybe it was whatever you smoked... You can check the local pharmacy and get some hydrocordisone cream (sold over the counter) and it is great for most rashes or hives. You didn't mention if they itch or are raised into little white caps. If it is really bothersome you might want the pharmacist to look at it, you might need something like benadril for an allergic reaction. what did you smoke? was it marijuana /? sounds like an allergic reaction simply put on hydrocortisone cream OTC and put it on First and foremost go to a dermatologist to rule out anything!!!!! More then 90% of hive cases they don't know the cause, but let them do blood work to make sure. A year ago I all of a sudden got hives and I was miserable for 9 months straight!!! Blood work was fine but you cant just go and get antihistamines - it could be covering up the true reason and it also might not work (It didn't for me). There is a pretty good creme on the market called Sarna, my dermatologist recommended it and it eases it somewhat. Just go and let them rule out the bad reasons, hives is one of those things people just overlook. |
