I just got hives?

so this morning at school in zero period, i went outside with my PE clothes (bball shorts + tee shirt) and the top my left arm started getting really itchy, but i didnt scratch. then it broke out and spread to the rest of my arm, to my hands, and i also broke out on my thighs and ankles. i went to the nurse and they said it was hives, so i went to CVS and got benadryl and a itch cream. after taking the medication and putting on the cream, i fell asleep (benadryl)
i woke up after about 5-6 hours, and its all gone with not a single trace of hives!

was it really hives?
because the weird thing is i didnt eat anything new, put on any kind of new cream/perfume/etc.., use a different soap or other product or wear anything thats new
its my very first time getting hives, and i have no idea what caused them cause i didnt NOTHING new to myself or do something out of the ordinary...

should i continue to take the medication/cream?

please can you give some info on my condition?

thank you!

Yes, it was really hives. Yes, it can go away that fast. It was the benadryll that did it. Since it was on your arm, you could have brushed up against something you were allergic to and not noticed. Hives can also be caused by stress and anxiety (or lack of sleep even).

No, you do not continue to take the medicine. If it comes back, you can take it again. Beware of over-medicating yourself, okay?

I used to have this happen to me at the same time of year when i was taking PE, I think it has something to do with chemicals on the field or something.

Hive and skin rash information can be found below.

Do, don't continue taking the medication as you have recovered. You also do not want to overdose.

Hives come from an allergic reaction. So there must be something that you came in touch with and that is causing the inflammation.

Continue to observe if your symptoms persist or comes back again.
