What causes hives?

I have red bumps on my side that look like hives and ive never gotten hives before in my life. i also have a sore throat im not sure if its related or not..

If you have other cold symptoms likely it's not strep (it's a headache - sore throat, fever, blah feeling)..

Hives are an allergic reaction to stress, food, new soaps
or a sting.
Take some benadryl (orally) it will make you tired and see an MD if they get worse or you fear you do have strep.

sometime hives come from nerves as well i will think it have nothing to do with hives [sore throat]
