Should I go to school covered in hives?

I woke up this morning only to realize that my legs and arms were covered in hives. I took a Benadryl but it didn't help at all. As the day progressed, my hives got worse. These past few hours have been really bad, with the unbearable itching and the spots getting bigger on my legs.

So my question is whether I should go to school tomorrow or not, even though hives aren't contagious. I have PE in the morning, and I'm not really looking forward to showing off my hive covered limbs to other students. Are there any medical reasons as to why I shouldn't attend school?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Try taking a bath in oatmeal to relieve the itching. Often when I'm fully blown out in hives covering my entire body, I can take a bath in colloidal oatmeal and get the red and itching to subside. You can also use oatmeal moisturizer, but it doesn't quell the hives quite as well nor as fast as a bath in it does. Equate, the WalMart brand is the cheapest but Aveeno makes one too and it is available at most drug stores. My hives bruise a day after they appear and I usually don't give public face when I'm hiving or bruising. Your doctor should give you a written excuse for being out of school (mine will) because hives can really be debilitating especially when they are swelling. And I know the looks people give wondering whether what you have that they may get...even though they can't.

No. Stay home and get better. Might be time to speak with a doctor as well, to identify why you are having this allergic reaction and what to do about it.

GET A WATER FILTER. STAY AWAY FROM POP & WHITE SUGAR. STAY AWAY FROM THE DOCTORS, TOO, AN ALLERGY IS AN ATTACK ON THE IMMUNE SYSTEM AT THE LIVER, GET A LIVER CLEANSE KIT AT YOUR HEALTHFOOD STORE. GO TO SCHOOL, BENEDRYL IS A DRUG, STAY AWAY FROM IT, OR YOU WILL HAVE TO KEEP TAKING IT. IT COULD BE THE CHEMTRAILS THE PLANES ARE SPRAYING ALL OVER, EVERYONE IS GETTING SICK LIKE THE FLU, BUT IT ISN'T THE FLU, OR THEY ARE BREAKING OUT WITH HIVES, OR A RASH OF ONE KIND OR ANOTHER, STAY AWAY FROM VACCINES, THEY CONTAIN MERCURY. THIS WORLD IS INSANE.

You need to stay at home. You have a ton of itching and the hives need to be treated. An allergic reaction (hives) are a perfectly fine reason to miss school.
I would try a benadryl pill and hydrocortisone cream to help relieve the itching. They both work really well.

if you go to school they will make you go home anyways so there is no point in going. plus it makes the hives worse by being anxious about going or not .Instead use your time to go to a doctor right away to make sure it is hives.. Then they will give you the right treatment. Benedryl is too weak for hives usually wont work for them. I had them so severe benedryl didn't work I had to go and get a shot in my butt... and it finally went away

yea you either have an allergic reaction to something or you have something else. i would go to your doctor before you go to school
