Help with hives!!? |
Okay. so for the last year almost, i have been getting hives everywhere. I don't think i've gone a day without getting atlest one hive. At one point they were so bad that every night they would cover my back and keep me from sleeping because they were so itchy. We tried going to the doctors, but they said that they doubt they could find out what was causing them. I tryed going on Allergy medication but it didn't do much. Also we've tryed changing laundry detergents and getting rid of purfumes ect. Nothing seems to work. Now i have a limited diet because some foods provoke my hives, like strawberrys, banana's, ect. Also i seem to always brake out in hives when i get a cut, or a scratch, or even simply from smacking my hand off something. Does anyone else have this problem? and do any of you know of anything that could help me? You need to go to an allergist. They can do a simple 20 minute skin test on your back for molds, pollens and foods. They will have the results in 20 minutes. if you have hives and you just started eating something STOP eating whatever you just started eating and STOP itching i used to have the hives and this works really You need to go to an Allergy doctor, not a general practioner. You need to get an allergy test to find out what your body is allergic to. From there you can start treatment for it, whether it be just changes in your home and lifestyle, medication or allergy shots. I hope things get better, hives definitely suck! See a derm or an allergist. It is true that most of the time we don't find out what is causing the hives because we can't test for every single thing you come into contact with so we have to play the game which sounds like what you are doing. (changing laundry soap and restricting diet) . Definitely get a 2nd opinion or even a 3rd opinion until someone can figure something out. Find another doctor who can refer you to someone who will do allergy testing. You may need to get regular allergy shots. I have found that I will break out in hives then I need to avoid wheat for a while. I have several allergies, but at certain times of the year, the thing I need to avoid is wheat. |
