Due i need to see infectious diseaus dr.after lung surgery for histoplasmosis? |
they found a nodule, watched it for 3 months it had grown so the dr. said it was cancer but could not do a biopcy b/c it was behind the bone he sent me for a pet scan it was neg he said it still was cancer and sent me o a thorasic surgeon for a wedge removal. when he got in there he decided to take out half the L lung. he said i should go to an infectious disease control dr. to take some kind of pills for a while. my lung specialist says no no no, they took out all the bad the pills are not necessary DO NOT DO IT. im afraid to do it and afraid not to. please help me. thank you i dont think that you need to go to a infectous disease doctor, i think that you should seek a second opinion from another lung specialist. histoplasmosis, is caused from breathing in bird droppings or bat poop. get rid of whatever you are around either source. do listen to the thoracic surgeon, if he did send samples from your lung off and it came back with that in it |
