I have been told histoplasmosis is the same as HIV dose anyone know if this is true or false? no its not the same...Histoplasmosis [his-toh-plaz-MOH-sis] is a fungal infection that varies in symptoms and seriousness. they are totally different diseases That is FALSE. I agree with pangolin.HIV is a virus caused disease, while histoplasmosis is fungal. Histoplasmosis is a fungal infection that attacks the lungs, but can spread to other parts of the body if the person has a compromised immune system. It is not the same as HIV, but can be fatal in people with HIV. Hope this helps. Histoplasmosis is caused from inhaling spores from the fungus, it is usually found in the soil were large amounts of bird droppings are, it can affect different parts of the body such as your eyes or lungs. It is NOT HIV/AIDS, although it is more common in people that have compromised immune systems. And it is treatable with certain anti fungal medications. See your doctor or get a second opinion. NO, not even close! Histoplasmosis is a degenerative lung disease caused by a toxic bacterium that comes from bird or bat droppings. It's fairly rare these days, and I think there's medication for it. |

Meaning don't touch it or get so close that you're breathing near it. ...OMG Too funny. It's a widespread myth that having a bird "poop" on you will bring you good luck. It didn't seem to have brought you much luck! Lol.!! I do think your addition... |
