I was pooped on by a bird of some type. How serious is this?

I wiped it off as soon as it happened, but delayed washing my hands until I got to a sink of course. The next morning I wake up, and my sternum is a little sore, and it is stabbing when swallowing chunks of food. The same day of the poop incident, I was wrestling with a friend and he ended up sitting on my chest with his knees. I went to the doctor, and he told me I had Pharyngitis, or a sore throat. I had a slight headache, and a low grade fever, but nothing else. The sternum pain doesn't come about until I swallow heavy food or turn and basically "stretch" it. Should I be worried about Histoplasmosis and Cryptococcosis, (I do NOT have any immune problems, such as HIV or AIDS) or is this basically a coincidence and just had a muscle stretch and am having a slight cold at the same time. NOTE: I AM A HYPOCHONDRIAC.... Thanks.

OMG Too funny. It's a widespread myth that having a bird "poop" on you will bring you good luck. It didn't seem to have brought you much luck! Lol.!! I do think your additional problem following the incident is just a coincidence.. Relax hun..you are going to be fine.

Go with what the Doc tells you.

Well, once I was watching discovery's Deadliest Catch. And this guy got poop on by a seagull on his face. He was fine...it is good luck......

The bird poop will only hurt you if you get it in your lungs. It will cause cryptococcosis.. so don't worry about a little bird poop that got on you and you wash it away.

You are acting like hypochondriad. Unless you licked the poo or touched it and put your hands in your mouth. your are fine.
