Open hip surgery - not hip replacement to young for that!? |
I am having open hip surgery to have some of my joint shaved (not femur) and my cartalage fixed, anyone know how long i could be recovering for, i know i will probably be on cruches for about 6 weeks after. Just wondering if anyone has had the surgery, its not hip replacement :) brunette it has taken 4 years to find out whats wrong, lots of physio, xrays and CT scan, started as a 'groin strain' it is hard to diagnose as i have a pincer impingment but am also hypermobile, It sounds like you might be having an osteotomy, sometimes referred to as a pelvic osteotomy or periacetabular osteotomy [PAO]. i would like to know what your symptoms were that promted this action, i have problems with my hip a lot and i wonder if that is the answer |
