Hip Replacement, anyone???? |
Has anyone had a hip replacement? I am in my 60's, and have been told I could die from pneumonia after hip surgery, or suffer pain still for many months.? Is it worth it. Any help, good or bad would be helpful. I have had one cortisone injection, which helped a lot, but that is just a 'band-aid' for surgery isn't it?? Thanks. Hi, I am an old rn and I can honestly say I have never met 1 person who didn't say," I wish I had done this sooner' The tendency is to put this off as long as possible,til you are miserable. I would recommend when you do have the surgery, to take your pain meds so you are not afraid to move so you can do your therapy, and by moving about you will be less likely to have complications like pneumonia. Only you can decide what is best for you, not anyoune else. If successful it will give you your life back, and you'll never look back. |
