What are the chances of someone dying whilst having a hip replacement? |
My dad has got severe rheumatoid arthritis and insulin dependant diabetes and is going for a Hip replacement in a week he was told at his pre op assessment he may be given an epidural, he canno walk as his hip is going through his pelvis what are the chances of him dying his immune system is also crap. I've had both hips replaced. It's a great surgery that puts people back on their feet. I can't even begin to understand how worried you must be about him right now. There are risks involved in surgery whatever the physical condition of the person before hand. The best thing that you can do is ask to speak to the surgeon and the anaesthetist that are going to to be involved with your dad. They are going to be able to give you the answers you need. |
