Who had a hip replacement? Cemented or Non-Cementer? Invasive or Non? Recovery time?

Very confused about hip replacements. Looking for any comments.
Problem from rheumatoid arthritis.

Non-cemented. Invasive. Four days in hospital. Four weeks of home-visits with a physical therapist. Back at work (office) five weeks from day of surgery. No pain -- not even the day after surgery, although it probably wouldn't have felt good to probe the incision. Unqualified success for me. Good luck to you!

It isn't NECESSARY, but it sure is a good idea to have a knowledgeable physical therapist working with you in the early days of rehabilitation. My PT visited 3 times a week. I have no experience re water exercise. I resumed driving a car after four weeks (it was my right hip). Hope this helps. Report It
