Hip Injury on motorcycle 2wk ago still in pain?

My bf laid his bike down 2wk ago and he is still in alot of pain. He has not seen a doctor this whole time. I know I know he should have it x-rayed. But wouldn't it hurt ALOT more if it was broken. He says he is in pain but it not that bad because he wont even go to the doctor. Or is it a injury like this takes awhile to feel better because it is on the hip? Any thoughts?

I have been riding 51 years this year and have went down hard...your bf absolutely should go have this checked out as there could be damage (other than a break) which could have repercussions on his health both now and the rest of his life ( I had a cracked pelvis and to this day it bothers me in cold weather). Tell him to not be hard headed....like I was (smile).

He could have a fracture and eventually fractures break!!

He needs to get this checked out.

Biker chick, love it. Tell him to try to leave his feet in one spot and turn at the waist. If he screams bloody murder, go to the MDs

Okay. It could be broken, and there is no guarantee that pain is an indication its not. When I was in the Corps, we were have a hack-squat competition and i cracked three of my ribs. I didn't think they were broken, even though everyone heard them pop. I could breathe fine and they only hurt to the touch. Finally, one of the Corpman (Navy Medics) had my CO tell me to get an XRay, and sure enough...three split ribs.
I would say that he should seek medical attention, as this could be a bigger problem than he realizes. Us guys can be REAL dense when it comes to pain (as the doc took time to clearly explain the physiology of the male neurological system and how it dulls pain). We don't try to be dense to it, its just part of our make-up. This being a hip, I would definitely raise some concern here. Mainly cause if there is something broken, it could cause some very serious issues, and possibly embarrassing issues, later on in life.
Tell him to stop being a dumb@$$ get it checked out.

Hope this helps.
