What can I do for a hip flexor injury?

I hurt my hip flexor, at least i think thats what it is...its on the right upper thigh, almost right where my jeans pocket is. (is that right? its the hip flexor?) anyways, I'm wondering if there are any stretches or exercises that I can do to help it heal fast and stop hurting! Thanks

Start by resting the muscle for the next 2-3 wks....you can aid the healing process by taking an over the counter anti-inflammatory (Advil, Aleve, etc) as directed on the bottle for the next several days. Also do some stretching of the muscle (kneel on just the right with left leg in front and lunge forward keeping body upright...hold 30 seconds). After stretching, place an ice bag right on the spot that hurts for 15 mins. Do the stretching/ice thing for the next 2-3 wks. If you symptoms dont resolve in 3-4 wks then you should see a doctor to have an evaluation done on it.
