im 15 years old and very active but uch less so now due to pain

If the pain is on the outer side of your hip (not in the groin or back) then it's probably bursitis. This is generally treated with ultrasound, stretches to your hip muscles and IT band, and strengthening. If you tore some of your hip muscles, they should be healed by now and the treatment of stretching/strengthening is still appropriate.

Sometimes, an irritation in your lower back will be part of the cause for your pain, and most PT's overlook this. I don't think chiropractic is the answer, but looking for a PT who specializes in spine care may be your answer.

If you truly have a high thresh hold for pain read and apply this http://www.helium.com/tm/148271 because to fix your problem permanently will require a bunch of discomfort.
