SPORTING INJURY. I have a stinging pain in my left hip.?

Im 13 and i play tennis at a pretty high level.

I was having a lesson and just as i jumped up to hit my serve i got a sharp stinging pain in my left hip.

It stayed there and im posting this question about 20 mins after it happened.

i have iced it as well.

Can someone please tell me what happened and how to strengthan it back up?

How loose were your hamstrings before you played? You may have pulled a groin muscle and that hurts!
If rest and ice do not relieve you will need to see a doctor just to walk properly . Maybe a cane will be given to you to alieve the weight on the hipline and allow it to rest
You will need to rest and ice the area, and not use it until the pain fades and the maybe if it is a torn muscle cartlidge till it starts to heal. Ibuporferne can be helpful as is Shark Cartiledge is for the pain. You may need a doctor to see this if it does not go way within 2or3 days. You may need PT for a while the muscle or cartiledge heals and not allow the the hamstring to get tight on you

It sounds to me as though you have an overuse injury if it's in your hip, Is it right at the side of your hip? The best thing to do is rest it and stretch it. Train around the injury if you can it's never a good idea to stop training altogether. Although seriously if you play at a high level you really should see a doctor about it.
