Hip pain afer back injury?

I damaged a disc in my spine in jan/ feb time of this year and it really affected my hips and my walking. Although it's much better- I had 2 months of physio at the time, I still have stiffness, a reduced range of movement and,a t times, quite severe pain in my hips- is this normal? What could it be? Is it worth going back tp the doctors? Thank you.

where in the world can you think that a "quite severe pain" is normal. It's been ten months since you got the cause of it, you better enjoy the privileges of your insurance.

I think it is because your nerves were damaged they are sending false pain signals to your brain...just a hypothesys, i am no doc.

Visit a Chiropractor for a consultation and realignment. That might help a lot.
It is not normal to have pain.

used mustard oil for massage for 3 weeks, it will be OK at all

Injuring your back is a really big deal, as your back affetcs everything, your head, arms, legs, feet hips ect as it is all connected to one another. Seeing a chiropractor to see if your spine and hips are in line is a great thing to do. It could be as simple as that and they may able to help you at the first visit. Massage is also a good idea to help loosed any tight muscles and tendons from the injury and rehabilitation. If those dont help any symptoms then return to your primary to receive another script for physical therapy. Good luck and i hope things work out for you.

the nerves in your back are connected to nerves that go elsewhere in your body especially if it was a lower disc or towards your hips at all i dont know exactly why but as someone who knows a thing or two about health i would say that would be my best guess considering i havent gotten more details about the injury or anything...... hope this helps

My husband has two damaged discs L4/L5 and he gets pain in his hips all the time. You don't say how you damaged your back. It is possible that it is not healed. Go back to the GP and I would recommend a good chiropracter who can tell you quite a lot about whats going on.
If you have trapped nerves or have irritated nerves in the l;umbar region it can radiate down into the buttocks and cause stiffness in hips etc.
Also Alexander Technique is good at making you look at posture etc!
Good lUck.

i have been living with hip pain about 15 years. the best thing that i have found to work so far is to elevate my feet and take the pressure off of my hip. try to put a pillow under you on your lower back just enough to get your butt off the couch and put your feet on the arm rest and lay there for about an hour. but i would go to the doctor it could be something serious.
