Broken hip? |
I'm 15 years old, played soccer since I was very young These types of fractures are called avulsion fractures. They can occur in several places in the body including the shoulder, the ankle, the elbow, etc. Avulsion fractures of the hip usually occur at the anterior inferior iliac spine, the anterior superior iliac spine, the ischial tuberosity (this are boney prominances on your pelvis), the greater trochanter or the adducter tubercle (these are body prominances on your femur). Depending on which is the site of fracture it may be classified as a "hip pointer injury" or a "sprinters fracture", etc...but in general it can be called an avulsion fracture of the ______________ (insert name of fractured boney prominance). That would be a sprinters fracture...good luck! Report It |
