Soccer injuries?

I just came back from a soccer tournament where I play goalie. I dove to save a ball and landed right on my shoulder. It hurts and i cant really move it around without pain. Also, the game was very rough and aggresive so the girls who kept shooting would keep attacking me after i had the ball, and one girl managed to kick me hard in the hip, that REALLY hurts. I cannot put pressure on it or anything. I have another game for the tournament tomorrow early in the morning. How can i help it heal and not hurt by tomorrow? Because i HAVE to play goalie since my team doesnt have another one as good as me. HELP!

Hello,

I understand where you are coming from. I play keeper for my school and club squads, where I also am the sole person for the position. I have had many injuries, including broken fingers, been kicked in the head... etc. You name it, it has happened to me. I had an injury exactly the same you have said last season. The advice I can give you for making it feel better, are ice it, and make sure you stretch your body extensively. What feels like a bone in your hip, can be one of the muscles, and if you stretch it correctly, you can cure the pain. Also watch the way you sleep on it.

Some advice for your tournament tomorrow though, be aggressive in the first few minutes to make an impression for yourself. If you have a chance to get a hit on someone or make an aggressive save, do it. It will make other players on the pitch realize your abilities, and it will reduce your chances of having a dangerous challenge from the other players.

Good luck, and have fun.

Keep the Game beautiful,
Marty

icee hots or whatever u call it,and good streching then hope for the best

good luck =]

oh yeah i like ur name =]

contact a massage therapist...to help heal your pain..or put an ointment on your shoulder....worst comes to worst, don't play tomorrow....it will get more and more pain if you continue to play...it's up to you...

Icy hot for about 20-35 minutes then take a hot shower. get some sleep drink lots of water.
