Freinds son wants to know what it will feel like when he has both legs in casts with bar to spread them.?

He is having both legs cast in plaster from tops to toes with one or two speader bars fixed between the casts for a hip disorder. He woderes if any other kids that have experienced such casts could tell him what being in these casts feels like. Will he be able to walk in them, are they heavy, tight,etc.We dont know how long the crossbars will be but he will be in these casts for a considrable time. The casts are going on in about two weeks time.

My Son was in them for 6 months. He was only 4 at the time. We had to reteach him to walk thru Physical Therapy. They r heavy. Of course they make ur legs hot and sweaty and that will cause lots of itching. So I recommend u to get a hanger and keep it with ya. Good Luck.
