Stretch marks during puberty??

My 9 year old is getting stretch marks on her thighs and hips, her breasts are also growing, as well as getting pubic hair.
Anyway she has gained a little bit of weight since starting puberty, I just am curious if it is normal or if I should take her to the doctor.
I am trying not to make a big deal out of it because so many girls start worrying about their weight so early, I don't want her to get an eating disorder.

This is completely normal. I worried about that also, but I found this site here:

http://www.kidshealth.org/teen/your_body...

Hope that helps. :]

its normal. that happened to me in like 6th grade.. but the stretch marks eventually went away and i lost weight.

weight gain is normal, but if she gains ALOT than get her checked out...but the strech marks are a result of the weight gain...the skin is streching so dont worryy for now .

Well, I'm still fat, and have stretch marks on my thighs. And I am bulimic. And I am sexually abused by uncle, and I am depressed, be careful the way you address your daughter, make sure she knows she is beautiful!

That is completly normal. That happened to me in 5th ish grade. My mom told me (shes not a doc but has a ton of reliable, almost useless info) that it's partly because your skin as not ready to grow that fast. (i believe it because by the end of eigth i had size d cups)
My sis is going this right now and is gaining stretch marks. She started ealrier like 4th bc shes so dang tall! lol

thats probably normal. but its not the weight gain that made her get stretch marks. well yeah it is but it has to do more with her skin. some people are just able to carry more weight and have their skin stretch. but some people dont have as stretchy skin and thats why they get stretch marks. i dont think you have to take her to the doctor, but have her put some cocoa butter lotion on them so they fade

this is totaly normal. she probably hasn't hit her growth spirt yet and for the eating disorder thing just remind her often enuff that that is not the way to live. educate her on the side effects . i am 14 and the same thing happened to me. Don't worry everything will even out as she gets older.
