Help has anyone heard of hidradenitis suppurativa?

i just found out that im suffering from this ,its a skin problem that results in abcesses that can swell up really big and are extremely painful i have been given antibiotics but might have to have it drained surgically has anyone else heard from this or suffer from this

if so does anyone have any suggestions on what could help relieve these

I have it. After years of suffering, I was diagnosed with it 2 1/2 years ago. Personally, I stopped taking antibiotics (because of constant yeast infections) and it does not help with the pain. If the pain is completely unbearable, I will call for an prescription pain reliever. Unfortunately the only way the pain stops is if you get the abscess to burst causing drainage. I just got a tip yesterday to try Vick's vapor rub to help with the drainage or tea tree oil. I was soo happy because I finally got to speak with someone who actually has the disease too. It made me feel less alone.

Try joining a support group too. They will have tips on how deal with HS. Yahoo has one and try HS-USA.org

I have never heard of it, but I hope your treatment is successful.

I have heard of it (and seen questions about it on here so maybe do a search of old questions). Its a very ditressing condition. I havnt go any answers for improving it but try searching Yahoo and MSN groups for a support group. Also search out info on the net, there are thousands of sites about it. I ahve listed just one below.
