Anyone have any experience with Hidradenitis Suppurativa? I have had this awful disease since I was about 10 years old and I am now 27. In my case over the last 7 years it has really progressed and gotten out of control. I have had 3 major operations to remove areas that are affected and none of my operations were successful. The disease has reappeared in the same areas that were removed and also spread to many new places. After my operations failed the pain of living with this disease daily is so great that I have been placed on disability. Unfortunately there is no cure for this horrid condition so we do our best to live everyday as pain free as possible. Hope this helps. I have had Hidradenitis Suppurativa for almost 19 years. I have had 2 surgeries under my right arm. There is no cure at this time. I have been using Tea Tree Oil on my "spots" along with anti's. The Tea Tree Oil really seems to help them go down faster. Also, I recommend a support group. There are alot of people that have never heard of this so I think it is nice to talk to people that know first hand what I am going through. There is/should be a support group in every state. If not then HS-USA.org is a great web site. Try to keep the stress in your life a low as possible. I'm here if you need to talk. Take care! |
