No, the herpes virus does not affect the male or female reproductive system.

Herpes zoster can cause some serious side effects like partial facial paralysis (usually temporary), ear damage, or encephalitis, but it doesn't affect the reproductive system.

Herpes Zoster = shingles, Yes it can depending on where the virus activated from. The virus is usually in the nerve in the neck, between the shoulder blades, or the sciatic nerve. If it activates from the sciatic nerve and causes nerve damage, it's possible for the penis to be numb and tingly. Other effects than that, I don't know. I've never "personally" known any man who had shingles in the sciatic nerve, I've just know "of" them.
