Has anyone had recurring outbreaks of herpes zoster (NOT herpes simplex)?

I'm familiar with the textbook opinion that it doesn't recur in the same form. However, I suspect this may not be 100% true and haven't convinced my Dr. to do a culture.
Thanks for any personel experience you care to share.

Once again, please note--NOT herpes simplex!
Herpes Zoster is the virus that causes small pox and shingles. It is extremely painful almost to the point of being debilitating. I am 68 years old and haven't been sexually active for quite some time. I have been exposed to shingles. As I said, NOT Herpes Simplex

Dont listen to the stupid girl above me... she obviously has issues, if you are concerned... tell your doctor you want a culture- dont wait for them to bring it up. And if your doctor, for some absurd reason, won't do one- TELL HIM YOU WILL GO TO SOMEONE ELSE THAT WILL!!!!!!!! This is not something you want to put off... especially if it is causing that much pain!

maybe if you weren't such a tramp you wouldn't get them
