Herpes simplex?

I have been getting what i call fever blisters on my lips and around my mouth area since i was born.... i have been told that i have herpes simplex. but i just wondering is there any way to cure it or a way to have less out brakes? and can it worsen on its own and turn into the std herpes because i was told that they arent the same thing.. and even if i dont have a out brake but preform oral sex is it contagous or only when i have and out brake... remember its only herpes simplex..... and i dont have it down there!

there is an over the counter medication for herpes simplex.
it is called abreva, it reduces signs , simptoms, and shortens healing time. if you do not have genital herpes then you do not need zovirax, you would just be introducing your immune system to something that it doesn't need.
but just remember, no oral while in an outbreak, be careful and have fun.

Herpes simplex is not an STD and it cannot just turn into the genital herpes. I am quite sure that you can also not pass it on to your partner as a genital herpes through oral sex, but you can pass the herpes simplex onto him or her, I have not heard of it growing on the genitals though.

Something that you should think about considering oral sex is however that an open sore around your mouth getting in contact with your partners genitals means that you will have a much higher risk to infect yourself or him /her with any other STD that you or your partner might be carrying. if you are with a guy try to use a condom in any case even for oral sex, and particularily if you have any sores around your mouth if you are with a girl also try to use some precautions.

There are some people who are affected by herpes simplex and others who are not, you cannot just pass it on to your partner when you dont have an outbreak. if your partner has never had herpes simplex you wont pass it on to him or her, whereas if he /she has had it before then if you kiss him /her it will be passed on.

There is no certified way to control the frequency of outbreakes, but staying healthy helps. If your defences are down then you will get it much more easily. So if youve just been ill, or boozing all weekend then its likely that the tingling sensation wont wait long. I have also found that I got herpes less frequently as I grew out of my teens.

the best thing is to always have a cream with you just in case you feel a herpes coming on and use it at the first tingling sensation and then the first day every couple of hours and the next days at least 3 times or so until it is completely gone. Also dont rub it, scratch it and keep your hands and towels clean during an outbreak to not spread it around your face or start a new outbreak. Also make sure that your cream is not too old because they loose their effectiveness. The best cremes are those containing acyclovir like zovirax, especially if you get it very frequently.

here are also some strategies to cope from the site of that cream check it out: http://www.zovirax.co.uk/cop.html
