Herpes Simplex Virus?

Some people do not understand my answer to a question about this disease. What I said was true. If you copy the link below and paste it in your address bar it will take you to this medical page. I am studying to be a nurse and would never give information that I could not validate.

PLEASE read the last sentence under the topic Herpes Simplex Virus 1 (HSV1).

The sentence that you refer to "By adulthood, up to 90% of individuals will have antibodies to HSV-1" is completely true.

If you are having trouble getting people to believe that fact, then I can only assume that those people are trying to comfort themselves by believing that it could not possibly happen to them, partners, etc. Otherwise they'd have to admit that they and almost everyone has Herpes Orally.

Most people think that because you don't get outbreaks of HSV1, Cold Sores, Oral Herpes, call it what you will, that they therefore cannot have it.

Terribly untrue that.
Most people are asymptomatic carriers meaning that they do not get outbreaks of any kind. But they certainly still shed the virus.

i could look this up, but why? just ask your question.
