Exposed to herpes simplex 2? |
I had sex with someone who I just found out has herpes simplex 2...how long before I know if I contracted it? Or how long before I see signs. I am a female with no previous STD's. normal incubation is between 2 and 30 days with most outbreaks occuring between 2 and 10 days - without having an outbreak you can still find out if you are infected, have your doctor run an HSV typing blood test - you will get results in about a week get a test by ur doctor. i hope u don't. Good luck! You may not see signs. It can be laden in your body and may never come out or may come out. Go see your doctor. Well here is the thing, usually the first outbreak will occur within 2 to 20days after being exposed to the virus, however, there is also a chance that the virus can lie dormant in your body and not come out for years. Women are more susceptible to get the virus than men are and the first outbreak is the most painful. A blood test can be done to tell you if you have herpes however blood tests for herpes are not always correct. |
