Just to vent--------------------.Herpe... Simplex Virus? |
I have herpes simplex virus of the face and eyes, and have had the disease since 1983. It has gotten progressively worse through the years; from a 'flare up', every 2-3 yrs, to an 'OUTBREAK', every 3 months. My husband was diagnosed with herpes keratits in 1983 and was told to use 'normal caution', like with the 'pink eye'. HMPH!!! It was highly contagous and my condition is highly contagious. I've been very careful and my son never caught it nor anyone associated with me, but I cut myself off from life for 10-15 days every breakout. . And of course after all these years, my eyesigfht has been damaged. My left eye is 20/300, my right is still good, at 20/50. Medicine to control this nasty little disease.........900.00 per month where I live. With insurance, 157.oo, still out of my price range. So I continue as before................. I have been thru all the community resources offered and I don't qualify because I have health insurance. Sometimes my dr's can get me samples. Have you tried going to your human resources department to get help from the state to help out on medication and doctor expense's. partnership for perscriptions |
