Herpes simplex... what can I do and what I can't do while having sex?

was diagnosed with oral herpes 1 recently... what thinks I should not do while having sex with my wife? can I kiss her? can I kiss her body? oral? I have just had a few sore on my tounge but nothing on my lips....

Herpes is spread by direct skin to skin contact. Unlike a flu virus that you can get through the air, herpes spreads by direct contact, that is, directly from the site of infection to the site of contact. For example, if you have a cold sore and kiss someone, you can transfer the virus to their mouth. Similarly, if you have active genital herpes and have vaginal or anal intercourse, you can give your partner genital herpes. Finally, if you have a cold sore and put your mouth on your partners genitals (oral sex), you can give your partner genital herpes.

No Oral Sex !! And if you kiss her you will give it to her..this is a highly contagious virus so be careful..I take 500 mg of Vitamin C to boost my immune system, along with B-Complex. They say Lysine also suppresses this virus. Talk to someone at a health store, they may suggest other natural remedies too.

regardless of whether you have a sore showing herpes can be passed by any form of bodily fluids swapping eg: kissing. if you have it chances are your wife will also

anything u do now will put ur partner at risk. i hope u have told her. and these are questions that u should ask ur dr. good luk

Please see the webpage for more details on Genital herpes and Herpes labialis (Oral Herpes Simplex).
Genital herpes:
A common infection caused by the herpes simplex virus type 2 or type 1.
Type 1 is commonly acquired through oral sex, while type 2 is transmitted through sexual intercourse.
Symptoms include small blisters in the genital area which rapidly break down to leave painful ulcers.
Other symptoms include pain or difficulty in passing urine. Some patients may develop headache and fever.
Herpes infection during late pregnancy is potentially dangerous to the baby during labour.
Herpes is a life-long chronic condition which cannot be cured.
However, there are antiviral drugs available which can reduce the severity of symptoms.
Genital herpes cannot be cured. Once infected, the virus stays in the body for the rest of the individual's life
Research suggests that the virus can be transmitted even when there are no symptoms present, so that a sexual partner without obvious genital herpes sores may still transmit the illness. In fact, asymptomatic spread may actually contribute more to the spread of genital herpes than do active sores.
.
You have not stated which type of Herpes simplex virus has infected.(HSV1 or HSV2).
Consult your wife as well as your Doctor for future sexual relationship. Your sexual partner may also be treated for Herpes simplex virus.
