Tested positive for herpes simplex one help me please? |
ive been haveing irratation and watery discharge coming out of my vagina. i went to the doctor and got tested positive for HSV 1 but i havent expeirenced an outbreak at all. well i ever? or is it inside of me and i just cant see it? ive been having this discomfort on and off for about a month. what do you think?? my doctor wasnt specific at all. im younge, scared and nervous. please help me. Most everyone will test positive for herpes 1 because it is the virus that causes cold sores. It is not genital herpes. Irritation and watery discharge can be a fairly normal occurrence in that arrea. See if Vagisil will help the itch. A discharge is very normal and a pantiliner should help with that. You need to go back and see the doc and have him answer all of your questions. He should not have let you leave the office without telling you everything you needed to know about herpes. I thought HSV1 was herpes of the mouth, if its on your private then its HSV2, but anyway you should get a second opinion, because if you've been having this for an entire month, you gotta get that checked out. And start using condoms did they test a sore or do a blood test? Herpes Simplex I is oral-similar to a cold sore. Herpes Simplex II is genital herpes. If you have genital herpes, the first outbreak that you have would have flu like symptoms along with a lesion that would be very painful but short lived. You can have a lesion that you wouldn't be able to see. The only way to be for sure is to go to the doctor when you believe that you are having an outbreak so that they can take a culture of the lesion to determine what it is for sure. Your doctor should have spent a little more time explaining this to you. Please talk to your mother or other trusted female. This is a lifetime condition, but thousands of people have it. It can be treated but not cured. Good luck I would go back to the Doctor and make sure he answers ALL of your questions because this can be serious. If you need to, go to a different Doctor who'll treat you. He or she can put you on some medication. you should go back to your ob-gyne or look for second opinion on your problem. i think there are tests to check if that's really herpes. your irritation/vaginal discharge is different from herpes. |
