Cold Sores/Herpes Simplex Virus 1?

I didnt kiss anybody so how did I get a cold sore? My cold sore came in the 6ht grade and ended in 6 grade. Right now I'm in 8th so does that mean that I didnt really get a cold sore?

Most of the human population has been exposed to the HSV1 virus, usually before their first birthday. Most of us carry the virus, which is the cause of the common cold sore which breaks out near the lips or corners of the mouth. You could have been exposed by a family member, and most likely were. Or you could have done it yourself, from your own hands to your mouth. After the initial breakout, the body will supress the virus, and prevent it from happening very often. In times of stress, either from the usual life stress or from being sick, the virus can take advantage of the situation and cause another breakout. You are young, so your immune system is pretty good at supressing it at the moment, and you simply haven't had the circumstances arise that would allow a new breakout. It may not happen that often for you, some people are fortunate that way. You probably did actually have a cold sore, and just haven't had one since. You probably will suffer one again at some point in the future, if the stars all misalign and the conditions are right. It's no big deal, as I said, most of the humans on earth carry the virus.
