I need information on herpes simplex?

Herpes Simplex is one of a large number of Herpes viruses that infect animals. There are six (6) Herpes viruses that infect man:
1) Ebstein Barr Virus : Cause of Burkit lymphoma,
naso-pharyngeal carcinoma and infectious
mononucleosis.
2) Cytomeglo Virus
3) Varicella Zoster Virus...cause of chicken pox and
shingles
4) Roseola
5) Herpes Simplex I
6) Herpes Simplex II
Years ago, Herpes simplex I was associated with development of cold sores, and Herpes simplex II was associated with genital lesions..usually vessicles that can sometimes be quite painful. Today (with changing sexual mores) either type can be found in either location. There is no cure but the infection is characterized by remissions (times without symptoms) and outbreaks when the lesions return. There are, however, prescription medicines that can shorten the duration of the outbreaks and lessen the severity...eg. Valtrex, Zovirax...etc

You're gonna have to be more specific. There are several different kinds of herpes. There are several symptoms. I'd suggest a simple web search... like WebMD.com. Now, this is not a know it all site. This is a general information site.Its a start... from there you can make less generalized questions.

Like how long to break outs last? (it varies from person to person) Do i have to take medicine forever for it? (In many cases, outbreaks arent frequent enough to need daily medication... and over time frequency of outbreaks has a tendency to be farther apart) Do hormones and stress levels affect outbreaks? (YUP!) can i ever have sex again? (Yeah, but you wanna be aware of your outbreaks, you can spread herpes even if you have a condom) How do i get herpes? (what kind ya talkin about?! Kissing crusty aunt mable with that thing on her lip when you were 8 can do it, oral kind. Sex with someone whos havin an outbreak. Get this one... Oral sex from someone with the oral kind can mess up your social life!)
