Question on Heroin?

Even though it would taste bitter, can you drink Heroin? I'm doing an essay on illicit substances and I can see that Heroin by far is the most damaging. I'm not going to try it, or play around with it, so don't think that I'm going to attempt to drink it! lol
I can't find any information about it on the web, so I thought I'd try the old faithful answers at yahoo. So, can you pour the powder into water, throw in some cordial and drink it? What would be the effects? Would the "euphoria" still occur? Is it dangerous to do this? Thanks for your help, people. I've left this essay to the last minute, so responses in the next four hours would be great.

I guess I'm one of the 'weirdo's' kjay was referring to. I'm a recovering heroin addict who is also addicted to injecting the drug. I really don't think there's a heroin addict out there who would mix it with water & drink it. It would take forever for the high to kick in. Heroin addicts want the quickest fix out there. They're sick (from withdrawal symptoms) and would not wait for the high to kick in. This is why we inject it - to get instant results.

Yeah you could, ive never heard of anyone doing that though. I guess, the reason people move onto heroin is because they need a bigger 'hit' then they've been previously getting, if this is the case, drinking it would defeat the purpose - i know drinking speed doesnt give you the rush that injecting does. So yeah, i would say drinking it would be possible, but it would be very unlikely anyone whose stooped as low as to take heroin would be after that rush - the same high would be the end result, but the imediate thrill wouldnt be there. Alot of people like the feeling of injecting too, as in the needle going in, dont ask me why - weirdos lol!
