Does heroin have the same effects on you as weed?

When you're on weed you are really happy and peaceful and it seems dream-like. I know cocaine speeds you up so it's not like weed but I've heard heroin does make you feel peaceful. So for those of you who have tried both pot and heroin can you tell me which is better. I know health wise neither is good for you and I know heroin is the most addictive drug so don't tell me that. All I want to know is which one gives you a better felling.

Weed does give you a general sense of well being, but this is mostly due to its depressant affect on the brain. Basically, all the bad stuff going on in life is blocked from entering your mind.

Heroin is actually a stimulant, and acts on the brains neurochemistry to a far greater extent. It gives you a feeling of euphoria, basically a far greater sense of well being than weed. And its addicting and far more powerful due to its effect on the dopamine levels in your brain.

This answer is completely wrong. iversonali3 probably confused heroin with cocaine. Cocaine is a stimulant affecting dopamine levels, not heroin. Heroin is a depressant and it affects primarily endorphine levels. Report It

All I can say is that heroin is horrible.

heroine is like speed(meth) but its not as clean as meth... its easy to OD on.. it gives you a peaceful calm feeling but your really hyper and spazzed out

heroin has a euphoric feeling ...like being on top of the world..very much different than weed...please dont try...from friends experiences it is very very hard to kick that habit..i am a nurseand once worked in a rehab with heroin addicts...it is not worth it sweetheart :-)

heroin dont do it my mom died from it 2 years ago it makes u feel happy but you got to be on the move....and u get mad easliy

And as for Heroin... that shite is nasty. Not the same high at all, they are very different.
My personal rule is that if it comes from the earth (and I mean directly, with no chemicals) it's not going to hurt me!

Yes and No.
Both heroin and THC exert their effects through different receptors in the brain. However, they do share a few similarities in that their pleasurable effects are both mediated by dopamine. In addition, heroin does have something in common with marijuana in that blocking the specific receptor for marijuana (called CB1) also attenuates/blocks the pleasurable effects of heroin. So they do have a few things in common.

But all in all, you're dealing with 2 different drugs. As to which drug gives a better high, nobody can really answer that because everyone is different and we all respond differently to drugs. But if I had to choose which drug was more "pleasurable", I would have to say heroin.
