Question regarding HEROIN ADDICTION...? |
Someone close to me has tried heroin...I do not anything about drugs because I have led a drug free life my whole life and I am proud of that fact. The thing is that this person confessed that they "booted" heroin on a certain Saturday Morning. They had withdrawl symptoms of dry heaving all day Satuday but after eatting they felt better. Sunday this person felt a little queasy but overall fine. Then I saw this person that following Monday Night and again she was dry heaving that night and complained of not feeling good. She initially told me she took Morphine but I know that Morphine is used to make Heroin and that she was a Heroin addict some years ago. I know I know...this is Heroin...heavy duty stuff...which is why I have my doubts that she only "booted" it up once. Are there any experts or recovering addicts who can please tell me what the HELL is going on here...is she an addict AGAIN...??? first of all you cannot have withdrawls like that after only 1 time use. most likely ur friend either 1. got a bad dose of heroin or 2. she has been using for awhile and is trying to quit on her own. most heroin addicts never quit, its a life long addiction and the only way they stop is death. its very sad! you can try taking ur friend to AA or a rehab center. but like i said heroin addicts never change, and the ones that say they do are only kidding themselves. i wish i could be of more help but i wish YOU well in trying to deal with ur friend. if she is recovery and did it again its called a relapse...some heavy duty users can have symptoms that last for days so its really unknown to you if she used again besides that first night...she needs to get some help... i dont know much about drug addictions but personally i think that once you've been addicted to drugs you really cant fully cure it. I would think it would be so easy to go back to drugs after one little 'boot'. It's kind of like my step father, he was off of ciggaretts for a whole year but one time at a party he smoked one and he's been smoking ever since. And for a friends of mine...she was an anorexic over the summer and its so easy for her to skip meals and fast... I am no expert on the topic.. but have dealt a little with friends on this matter.. |
