A question about heroin?

If you take heroin long enough, you can build up tolerance and physical dependence to the drug so that you'll have to take more of it to get high, and if you stop taking it, you will go through withdrawal. What I'm curious about is what would happen if you took the same amount of heroin every time, not increasing or decreasing the amount. You wouldn't get the high you want because of your tolerance, but would you go through withdrawal at all?

Note: I'm NOT talking about quitting heroin, I want to know what would happen if you didn't increase or decrease the amount you were taking for a long time. Would that make you go through withdrawal?

Thanks.

Disclaimer: I am not on heroin.

Your body will be in a steady state meaning that the physical needs are met chemically by the amount supplied but, you will not feel satisfied, for example imagine having water cheese and bread for dinner versus an 8 course meal, both keep you alive but you enjoy one more.

WITHDRAWL IS WITHDRAWL. IT IS HORRIBLE AND BETTER IF YOU GO THROUGH A DOCTOR TO DO IT. THEY HAVE METHADONE CLINICS, THEY HAVE NEW MEDICATIONS AND RAPID DETOX. PLEASE CHECK INTO IT. THE DOCTOR IS THERE TO HELP, I PROMISE

I don't think you would go through withdrawls but the cravings for the high will probably get the best of you. Heroin is a nasty substance that does lots of harm to the body. I would suggest if any one is on it that they would go to a treatment center for help.

If you take a drug that is addictive for a long period of time then your body becomes addicted. The amount really does not matter. Your body will exhibit signs of physical withdrawal if you try to stop taking it. In the case of heroin, you will exhibit flu like symptoms. Nausea, vommitting, chills, body aches, etc. If you continue to take it then you will not experience withdrawal symptoms but you will still be an addict. Your body will crave the drug and will ask you for more.

That is the stupidest question of all time. OF COURSE you would go through withdrawl. You are putting poisons into your body, opiates, and even if you remain at the same dosage, your body will definitely build up a tolerance to it and if you tried to quit cold turkey, you would go through severe withdrawls. What kind of question is this anyway? Are you planning on doing a heroin experiment? If you wanted to get off it, most heroin addicts have to go on methadone, and then steadily taper off methadone, but then they get addicted to that, and that is called liquid handcuffs. Stay away from this crap. It's killed so many musicians and people around the world, and it's a scurg of the earth.

Oh, well that is another stupid question, if you knew anything about drugs, and did some READING, you would know about this little thing called TOLERANCE, that people build up. Like when you drink, in the beginning 3 beers might get you drunk, then 4, then 5, then you can handle a 12 pack after years of drinking. These are all common place medical terms. Look them up. TOLERANCE, ADDICTION, WITHDRAWL.

I don't believe you would go through withdrawal, but drugs are addictive in nature. If everyone did a line of coke and maintained a level of control like most people do with alcohol then no drugs would really be a problem.

The problem is drugs create a dependence, and your body will always build a tolerance, and crave more. People almost always increase their intake because they want/need more, the high isn't the same anymore, I must hit it again, and more often. That's when people fall.

You would crave it more evreytime, it wouldn't satisfy the reward system of the brain, which is what youre triggering when you introduce heroin into youre system. I would think that you would go through a mild withdrawal if you keep the dose the same evreytime, it would kinda be pointless to keep the dose the same though, you would spend more time feeling like ****, than feeling good.
