Heroin withdrawal...? |
I brought a childhood friend home with me after Christmas break who is trying to kick heroin. Noon will make 72 hours since she has used. I hear that the first 72 hours are the hardest. My question is, at what point does the insomnia go away? And is the leg kicking, arm waving, and disorientation part of the withdrawal process? This is my first experience with anything of this sort, and I want to be able to help her in whatever way I can, and while I have talked to her doctors and counselors who are supporting us through all of this, I'd like to hear from some people who have actually gone through this themselves. Thank you all in advance. Edit: It is being done with medical supervision. I am in constant touch with her doctors and counselors. Well I'm 14 and maybe not the best expert, but with my personal experience with Heroin, the first 72 hours are the hardest. From my experience the insomnia and jerking went away after three or four days at the most *after numerous relapses* Get her to drink a lot of water and juice, It always helped me. Hope this helps. Best of lucky to you and your friend!^^ Heroin is the hardest to come off. Im currently struggling with it. Relapse is unavoidable. The only cure is a 60-day rehab, sorry. oh and maybe suboxone Report It This kind of thing should be done with medical supervision, as heroin withdrawal CAN actually be fatal. Yes, disorientation is very common...even hallucination. I myself have never known anyone to experience leg kicking or arm waving, but movement disorders are commonly associated with drug use. |
