My brother used to use Heroin and has been clean for 15 years. But now?

He is starting to use pain-killers A lot now. Vicodin ect. HE IS STEALING MINE!! I don't remember but I think thats what got him into the heroin in the first place. Im so scared he will go back on it, what can I do? I hate having to hide my things from people, I dont want to live like this, but at the same time I WILL.

Do you think this is the start of Heroin use again? I know he said back in the day he started using Oxycontin which then got him into heroin. What should I do besides hide my pain pills?

Well for one thing, I dont know 100% that he is off heroin but then I DO know. He dosn't isolate himself in his room like he used to when he was on heroin. No needles around and no marks on his arms. He Looks great, and when he was on Heroin it was so obvious. He wouldn't be able to hide it. He was A nervous wreck on heroin all the time. He now 15 years later looks great, but now is starting with pills again which scares me, because thats what got him into heroin.

15 years he must be an adult. It is his job to act like one. And not need you to babysit him in order to stay off drugs. He must remember how hard it was for him to get cleaned up as they say. Remind him. That if he doesn't want to end up like before to put a stop to the behaviors that get him there. My sister used to do coke. She stopped. When she used to. She never had money. She never had nice things. Even though she always had a job. Well a few years ago. She told me she was planing on doing it again. Just a little she said. Her reason. Was she had gained weight. While on coke she was always thin and had no need to diet. So she figured if she does it again. She will lose weight. And keep it off. I reminded her. How hard it had been for her to stop. And how she never had money or things while she had been on drugs. That I know of, she hasn't gone back to using. Remind him of his past. And how it was. That should cool him off. Also when my sister stopped using she went in to drinking. She may not do coke no longer. But she likes to be a step away from being drunk.

take him to the hospital you don't want him to go back to bad habits he might be mad but in the end you are saving his life

once an addict always an addict..he needs professional help, thats the ONLY thing that will help him..if its not heroin is gonna be something just as destructive

Ok..wait a minute...I am a little iffy about what you are saying. How do you know 100% sure that your brother has been clean for 15 yrs? It's not that I am calling you a liar or blind but it just makes me wonder; what could possibly be so awful that has happened or is happening in your brother's life that could make him turn back to heroin after 15 yrs SOBRIETY??? Help him...do what ever you need to...he may be angry with you; but at least he'll know you love him
