Heroin Withdrawals?

When you are withdrawing from heroin, what are the side-effects, and can you work a daily job with only stomach problems?

I do not do heroin. I have a close friend who is and needs help. And i wanted to know if they were telling the truth about what was happening to them. I wanted to know if they we're lying 2 me. That's why I鈥檓 asking. And I am not a dumbass. and I don't appreciate you calling me that. Asking questions is what this site is for.

Well I know you want more heroin and you have to poop a lot because heroin makes you constipated. Might wanna check into a methadone clinic.

I don't know, I haven't ever tried heroin. But from what I see on TV and in the movies, it's apparently pretty painful and stressful. Ask your doctor. Good luck to you and congrats on the decision to get clean.

I haven't had withdrawals from that but I have from other substances. My uncle was a heroin addict and then he died. But his side effects were vomiting, sweats, irratability, sensitivity to light, and he was so bad he was actually shaking a lot. You can work a daily job but I would go to a methodone clinic. One of my other friends had to have that to function. Or you could take some oxycontin that is good too.

i doubt someone could go to work whilst in the first stages of heroin withdrawal, if it were that easy there would be so many less addicts. medical intervention may be needed if the habit is longterm and high use occurs then substitutes may be needed . a herion addict needs to go to some form of rehabilitation centre as violent shakes, sickness ,sweats, etc as well as realy strong cravings can occur over days or weeks . herion addiction is the hardest thing a person can beat. ive seen people do it though with good support and medical help.

if you are withdrawing from heroin use, you should be in a detox, or at least on something like methadone to replace the heroin in your body (it craves the symptoms without giving you the high - therfore way easier on your body). it helps with the cravings. methadone is slower acting than heroin and can stay in your body for about 24 hours as an oral medication.

and your going to be going through enough just withdrawing from a heroin addiction. i would seriously rethink attepmting to work while doing this. it wont work, and youll make an *** of your self at work.

Red Infant, Why does this question make you so angry? You sound really immature! To the person who asked the question.......I don't know anything about heroin withdrawals, but if I were you, I would contact your doctor to see if he'll prescibe something for the stomach problems.

GET RID OF ALL ENABLERS OR TRY TO STAY AWAY FROM THOSE WHO INFLUENCE YOU IN THE WRONG DIRECTIONS. The withdrawal of heroin is usually the opposite of what it induces, but to the extreme. It induces a feeling of warmth, relaxation, comfort, euphoria and complete peace of mind. It also has a dulling effect on the organs in that the users heart rate and breathing slow down and they also usually become constipated. During withdrawal the user is subjected to diahrroea, sickness, temperature extremes and shaking. They can also feel paranoid and panicky, their mind races and they can feel very restless. Apparently the body feels like its undergoing a very bad case of the flu. It is likely the more you use the more you will feel the effects of withdrawal as your body will be craving a higher dosage than someone who uses much less-its unlikely that someone suffering withdrawal would manage to attend work for at least a few days if thats what you are asking.
