Who has had back surgery for a herniated disk??? |
Ok, I have a herniated disk in my lower back and I'm considering surgery to take care of it. I've tried physical therapy and I've had 2 "lumbar epidurals" which are basically cortisone shots given right near your nerve. Anyway, none of these has helped so far. I'm just trying to get some people's opinions on whether surgery works most of the time or not. Thanks!!! My mom has had back surgery on herniated disks. Find a really good surgeon and talk to him/her about the pros and cons... they've made a lot of improvements since the 1990s when my mom had her surgery. One of the major risks is scar tissue forming in the area. My father had it. He couldn't walk he was in so much pain before the surgery. He has done wonderful since and resumed his normal hobbies and activities. |
