How can I help relieve my leg pain after a herniated disk surgery?

My husband just had surgery on his L4 for a herniated disk. He is still in a lot of pain...mainly his left leg muscles. We go back tomorrow for the MRI after the surgery...but I'm afraid it's just inflammation....what can I do for him tonight and for the weeks to come to help relieve the pain if it is not nerve damage?

Get a prescription for physical therapy immediately.!!!!!!!!
Give him a massage you can drain some of the inflammation.;Aleve or Advil Vit C 3000mg (acts as anti-inflammatory. Zinc50mg for healing after surgery.

Put either heat or cold whichever feels better.
