Herniated disk->hyperthyroidism/other complications? |
So the day we moved I herniated a disc in my lower back. Since then I have felt very high strung (August 2006). Last April I had bloodwork & they said my thyroid was off. It's certainly possible. Since the thyroid gland is innervated by the autonomic nerve system (in your case, sympathetic nerve -- causing increase thyroid function), a herniated disc in the lumbar area, if irritating the sympathetics enough, may cause chain reaction signal bleed all the way to the thyroid. |
