Does a herniated disk last forever?

I have one in my back and am curious if it will be like that forever, or if it will eventually go back into place on its own...

I have a copy of the CT scan that was taken 4 years ago, and don't know if it's still valid to bring to my new Dr.

They don't go back to the way they used to. It will always be herniated.

I've had a herniated disc before,if your young it should go back on it's own,but the pain will last a lot longer.
Your best bet is to get refered to a chiropractor by your regular physician.And follow there advice and excercise.I didn't even believe in chiropractic medicine until I went to one with this,they did wonders for getting me back in shape a lot quicker.
