I have an herniated disk C6-7 and Lunbar area L2,3,4,5,S1 and spasms all in the shoulder and in pain all time?

I have severe depression anxity attack sometimes I can not sleep and then other times I sleep to much, I do not have energy I guess you could say I feel sorry for my self. My husband does not realize he makes things worse for me he stress me for stupid I tell him to please stop but he thinks it is funny it is 6:00 in the morning and I do not want to take the medication but everything hurts.

whats your question

Keep sitting in your desk chair all day with your legs crossed and your shoulders slumped forward. It will do wonders for you!

back pain is all in your mind. it's a side effect of your mental problems. get up, get out, get active. stop blaming everyone else for your problems. accept responsibility for yourself, and take action to correct what you can. if you actively seek it, God will give you the courage to accept the things you cannot change, the strength to change the things you can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

take the meds ,you have some serious back problems, my friend has degenerative disc disease and is a lot like you, chronic pain will certianly depress you and sleep deprivation is very common with chronic pain issues. Talk again to your doc as it sounds like you may be a candidate for a morphine resivior ...a small pouch is implanted under the skin at the site of the pain..your lumbar spine...it is filled with morphene and time releases the morphene directly to the spine...you wont get sick or high ,it will just ease the pain to a level so you can do your daily routine without hardly any pain...worked wonders for him...once the pain goes so will the depression ...it did in him. good luck

the sad part is life goes on and after having 3 back ops my pain never goes away , but make the best out of it and do what makes u feel better fuseion at l 4 l 5 spasms most of the times tell u doc that the meds u take knocks u out they can find others that work also

There's nothing funny about disk issues. I was injured last summer when my car was rear ended in a minor fender-bender. I rested until the pain sort of subsided and went back to work. I went through this cycle five or six times, each time the severity of the pain was worse. I finally had to remain lying down day and night for two full months, and I am still being really careful about every movement I make.

While the injury is to your spine, you feel the results of the injury in the extremity portions of your body. The only thing you can do is allow the source of the discomfort to heal.

Severe depression anxiety is a typical response to back injury. You can work with visualization; visualize yourself as well and again able to enjoy full body mobility.

However, sleeping a lot is good therapy. Also lying down in a comfortable position. I found lying on the floor helps.

It would be helpful if your husband could be more supportive. In fact it may be essential. He is probably uneasy that so much has changed for you. You are not now able to be your normal self, and he is possibly resentful that he is having to accept more household responsibilities. The truth of the matter is that back injuries are slow to heal and if care is not taken, the healing period becomes longer.

Take those meds, and best wishes for a speedy recovery!

I can relate to how you are feeling,I also have back pain constantly from an auto accident. The pain limits all I am used to doing and like you I do not like taking pain meds.but am forced to do so just for some relief,I have been seeing doctors for 11 months. I have a lot of burning and muscle spasms and like you a lack of energy. I've been told from the beginning it will heal itself which does not seem to be doing so.I also have had PT. I just want you to know I can relate to what your going through. Good luck!

No. To my knowledge they are not keen to do surgery for herniated discs, as the Patient tends to end up in more pain after the surgery. Best of Luck
