Anyone with a herniated disk? And, how do you best deal with it? |
Anyone with a herniated disk? And, how do you best deal with it? First, realize there is no fix.. however you can control it. Be patient disc take time to heal 3-12 months. Don't be fooled to think surgery will fix it. This is not to say you may not need surgery because depending on what type of herniation you have and your symptomotology you may. I have 3 in my back. One that i had surgery on. I now have advanced degenerative arthritis at the L5/ S1 level as a result. 80% of the population has one, but not everyone is symptomatic. I recommend you find a Cox Flexion/Distraction certified doctor. You will not find a better treatment. www.coxtechnic.com I never had it but for all I know thats relally bad Planning on SURGERY type in on this site search http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/upr... Actually you can fing a better treatment. Try Bowenwork or the egoscue method. Both are extremely effective at treating herniated discs. Try any good reccomended therapy first if you can and really try to avoid surgery if at all possible. Surgery does not have a very high long term success rate. |
