Hernia!!!!!!!? |
if a person had a hernia for 3 years, would there have to be a visible lump?? i don't think so but every body is different maybe not - if painful - see a doctor. no Not necessarily. The hernia just refers to a bulge in a weak area, that can lead to a hole. The size and location have a lot to do with if you could feel it through from the skin. A small hernia with little tissue bulging through under some layers of fat might go unnoticed for years. No, absolutely not. There are some hernia's that never, ever, have a lump that is visible to the person who has the hernia. I am an alternative medicinal therapist and an ex nurse and no there would not because it depends on what type it is.. A hiatus would not have a visible lump because its a part of the stomach that protrudes through a gap in the ribs and causes bad heartburn., An inguinal is in the groin and will show a lump and is very dangerous if left untreated because it will strangulate and shut off the blood supply in the intestinal wall and cause gangrene. An umbilical hernia a baby usually gets and will show a lump. |
