Ive got a consultation on monday with a chinese doctor. what my question is, is there anybody on here who has tried it has it worked?? And can anybody give me some information on it???????? thanks in advance

i have pcos, i quit smoking and im 20.....my partner has a high sperm count and it is me that needs the treatment

Acupuncture can be a VERY effective treatment for infertility. Most people worry about the "needles" (when you hear that word, don't you automatically think about the hypodermic needles used for injections and blood draws?). They're not actually needles. They're very thin, flexible filaments that are about the width of a couple of human hairs, and they're placed just underneath the skin (not into a blood vessel or muscle). Most of the time, you won't feel the needles at all. But sometimes you may feel a tingle or a dull ache. These needles are sterile, single-use, disposable needles. NEVER re-sterilized or reused. Most insurance companies don't cover acupuncture, but some do. So be sure to check with your insurance companies to see if they offer any coverage.

In cases of infertility, most practitioners will recommend herbal supplementation in addition to acupuncture, and sometimes they often recommend qi gong (a very slow, gentle, stretching type exercise. It's classified as a martial art, and is done in forms). For best results, it's best to follow your practitioners recommendations regarding any diet, exercise, and lifestyle change.

Your first visit should include a very thorough consultation. Since there are different forms of infertility, there are different methods to treat it. Your practitioner will need a thorough history to create a treatment plan for your infertility.

It would also help if you started using a BBT chart to help track your cycles. You can print one out at BabyHopes.com. It'll help determine your cycle patterns, when you ovulate, and when are the most fertile days of your cycle.
I manage an integrative medicine office in Memphis, TN, which includes 4 licensed acupuncturists. We have great success with our fertility clients, and I think you'll find acupuncture rewarding. You'll want to check with the NCAAOM to find a practitioner near you who is not only nationally certified, but also state licensed.

Whichever route you choose, I wish you the best of luck. I actually used acupuncture to help me get pregnant (my infertility was due to a blood clotting disorder) and it worked twice for me. We have 2 specific clients who have PCOS and were told they'd never have children on their own, and now each of them has two after treatment with acupuncture and herbal supplementation (no IVF involved).

I know a phenomenal acupuncturist in Madison WI, who has a staff that works on this very subject conception/infertility, etc, with 80% of her patients. I will give the phone number if need be. She has quite a bit of success. Report It

Your question is a bit indirect. You havent mentioned the cause whether the problem is in you or your partner. There are various factors which may prevent conception. What is your age? What is the condition of your uterus, ovaries, and your periods? Does your partner have a good sperm count, is he suffering from any infectious disease? Does any one of you smoke too much?

These are just a few questions which need explanation and investigation before you start your treatment.

The herb miura puama can help with conception.

Also look into taking large amounts of protein enzymes for the PCOS. Do a search on "William Wong, ND" he might have some information about the enzymes and whether they might work.

Good luck and be well.

Hi,
Yes acupuncture & Chinese herbal medicine can work to help conceive. I know some acupuncturists who specialize in this and some are even listed on this directory (in the source)

Stick with the treatments, it could take a few menstrual cycles before anything "kicks in". Good luck
